My FRC Journey
“FRC, or FIRST® Robotics Competition, is a competition under strict rules and limited time and resources. Teams of high school students are challenged to build industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game in alliance with other teams, while also fundraising to meet their goals, designing a team “brand,” and advancing respect and appreciation for STEM within the local community” (https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc).
My team’s (6328) 2020-2021 season robot:
Competitions I Have Participated In:
Thunder Over New Hampshire 2021 (9/12):
Thunder Over New Hampshire is an offseason event that takes place on an Air Force base in NH. The robotics expo happens alongside an exciting airshow and plane showcase. This was my first ever competition, and I learned a lot about how to operate the robot, and prepare it for matches.
Chezy Champs 2021 (10/28 – 10/31):
Chezy Champs is an invitational, international-level offseason competition that takes place in San Jose, CA. I am very thankful to have gotten the opportunity to attend in my first year of FRC, as it is one of the most competitive FRC competitions in the nation. This was a huge learning experience for me, as I got to witness some of the best robotics teams in the world compete.
